Easy Element Insertion

Insert a fan or other duct fitting from the library into an existing straight duct section at the desired location, keeping the system connected.

Auto Connect

Automatically connect two sections without having to choose any elements from the library. The program will determine and insert the appropriate components, such as reducers (including transitions from rectangular to circular cross-sections), flex ducts, offsets or straight sections of duct as required.

Continuous Drawing

Draw ducts turn-by-turn, specifying points on the drawing. While tracing the duct path, you can change the cross-section dimensions and elevation; when changing dimensions or switching between rectangular and circular shapes, the program automatically selects and inserts the appropriate reducing or transition adapters.

Cross Sections

Create cross-sections views of selected elements from any angle. The function copies the selection into the indicated view – the duplicates in the cross-section are automatically excluded from the list of elements.

Auxiliary Cross Sections

Transform selected elements to a temporary cross section view that can be oriented at any angle and shows features of the installation hidden in the regular plan view. It is helpful to draw a missing part of the system or verify previously unseen collisions. Executing the command again return all elements (pre-existing or drawn) to the original plan view.

Flexible numbering, Labeling and Dimensioning Tools

Ventpack shall number, dimension and compile the bill of materials automatically in no time! You should also not be afraid of making changes in the basic design during the process of generating documentation, because the bill of materials is continuously updated in real time and the program also keeps element numbering up-to-date.

Pressure Loss Calculations and Reporting

During the design process, you will receive information about the linear and local pressure drops on each element, which aids sizing of the installation. Once the system is completed, the total pressure drop in the critical branch and pressure reductions required for proper hydraulic balancing of all other branches are calculated and displayed. To achieve a fully balanced system, you just select and place dampers from the library or redesign the ducts. The calculation results can be exported to XLS or XLSX files.

Acoustic Analysis

This powerful function in Ventpack allows you to assess and analyze noise generation and propagation in ventilation ducts, based on the ASHRAE, SMACNA and VDI 2081 standards. Noise of HVAC components, airflow-generated sound power levels and sound attenuation values are all calculated for the entire system to determine resulting noise levels on terminals, air intakes and exhausts. The acoustic calculation enables you to select appropriate silencers or to redesign the duct system by using more quiet fans, accessories or terminals. The acoustic analysis report can also be export to XLS or XLSX files.

Filter and Isolate

Making changes to a Ventpack project is very simple. Using the floating element property window, you can quickly search for elements of the same type or even same properties, such as airflow, dimensions, position, insulation and accessories. Using this tool, elements can be easily filtered, isolated and edited. You can also change properties of multiple elements of the same type, for example the power supply voltage for fire damper actuators, or the insulation thickness of diffuser plenum boxes.
